Japan will allocate more than $3.4 billion on hydrogen energy development
The Japanese government has decided to allocate 370 billion yen (more than 3.4 billion U.S. dollars) to projects aimed at building clean hydrogen energy infrastructure.
The state-owned Organization for the Development of New Energy and Industrial Technologies (NEDO) will be involved in the recruitment of applications. In turn, the development and evaluation of the projects will be entrusted to a group of experts at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan.
All of these projects are expected to begin by October 2021. By 2050, the country intends to significantly increase the share of hydrogen use in the energy sector and bring it to 10 million tons per year by 2050. By the way, Russia is already in talks with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, as well as a number of Japanese companies, including Kawasaki Heavy Industries,on the issue of an agreement to supply Japan with hydrogen.
The pilot export project considers the possibility of producing hydrogen for the Japanese market by electrolysis, i.e. the most environmentally friendly and expensive"green"hydrogen.?
