Morgan Stanley Cuts Oil Forecasts
Morgan Stanley lowers its oil forecasts as it expects high prices and flagging global growth to weigh on demand for crude. The U.S. bank cuts its Brent forecasts for the second and third quarters of this year by $20 to $110 and $100 a barrel, respectively. In 2023, it expects prices to average $95 a barrel in the first quarter and $100 a barrel in the second quarter, a cut to forecasts of $15 and $10, respectively. Prices reached levels that are hard to absorb and some consumers have been cutting back on oil purchases since June, MS says.
