API Data Sees Rise in US Oil Supplies
The American Petroleum Institute reports US inventories of crude oil surprisingly rose by 593,000 barrels last week, a source citing the data says, while gasoline supplies dropped by 3.4 million barrels. The results, slightly-bearish for crude but bullish for product, were released ahead of official inventory data from the EIA tomorrow morning. Average forecasts in a WSJ survey indicate the EIA report will show crude inventories fell by 1.2 million barrels from the previous week and that gasoline supplies decreased by 1.1M barrels.
