Natural Gas Output from Madimba, Tanzania Plant More Than Doubled
The natural gas production from Madimba natural gas processing plant in Tanzania has more than doubled over the past eight years, according to data revealed by the plant authorities. It must be noted that the plant is the largest gas processing facility in the country.
According to Eng. Emmanuel Mrosso, Plant Manager, the production from the plant has now reached 110 million cubic feet per day. This is more than double the production volume of 45 million cubic feet when the plant started operations in 2015. Till date, the plant has produced 14.714 billion cubic feet high quality natural gas. Over the years, the plant has significantly boosted production and usage of natural gas, he said.
The current production is only marginally higher than 50% of its capacity. It must be noted that the plant has a total processing capacity of 210 million cubic feet per day. The plant is operated by GASPO, a subsidiary of the Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC).
